Centre tour Colmar

You live in the historical centre of Colmar with its heritage protected old town, surrounded by Alsatian wineyards. Visit historical places where you can discover Alsatian comfort in a very traditional winegrower village where the medieval time seemed to stand still. The excellent wines and world-famous cuisine leave nothing to be desired for gourmets.

1. Day: Individual arrival to Colmar

Stroll through the capital of the Alsatian wine and enjoy the evening with a glass of wine in the so-called "Winstub".

2. Day: Colmar – Breisach – Colmar, approx. 62 km

Along the French canal system you cycle today in the octagon, baroque fortified city Neuf-Brisach. You cross the Rhine Bridge and now you are in Breisgau. At 2 pm you can take part in the guided tour of the basements of the "Geldermann Privatsektkellerei" in Breisach (included). In an arch from the 15 th century you will introduced in the history of this building and in the finenesses of the production of sparkling wine. Afterwards you will see the curing basement where there are always 13 degrees. Warm clothes are recommended. Back in France you cycle gently back to Colmar.

3. Day: Round tour to the famous wine villages, approx. 50 km

On this day trip you see the full variety of the Alsatian wine streets. In the prosperous wine villages Ribeauvillé, Hunawhir, Riquewhir and Kaysersberg it seems that the time stands still since medieval times. Visit the Diebsturm museum with its torture chamber in Riquewhir, the guardroom and the winehouse (included). You will have a great view over the city from the 25 m high Dolder, which is the landmark of the city with the Dolder museum (included).

4. Day: Colmar – day of rest

Visit the heritage protected old town with its framework from medieval times, its canals and city centre. Its cobbled streets will lead you the picturesque district "Little Venice". A must for every cultural enthusiasts is the visit of the" Unterlinden museum" with its world known masterwork "Isenheimer Altar"(included).

5. Day: Munster, approx. 47 km

The today's tour will lead you through wine gardens via Turckheim to Günsbach. Visit the Albert-Schweitzer museum (included), the spirit of "Grand Docteur" as Albert Schweitzer was called by his patients. Arrived in Munster, in the heart of Elsace, Irish monks developed the recipe for the famous "Munster cheese".  After a wine snack you cycle back and come to Eguisheim. Stroll through the fortified city with its picturesque streets and its flower decorated framework houses before you go back to Colmar.
