During this cycling holiday at Lake Constance you cycle from Constance along the lower Lake as well as on slightly hilly terrain via the Höri peninsula and further via the Bodanrück and the nature reserve Großen Riedes. The islands and peninsulas are an attraction with their lush garden splendour, and the entire region boasts a landscape of soft hills. Medieval cities such as the Swiss Stein a. R., imposing buildings such as the Konstanz cathedral as well as castles and museums make up the cultural part of this journey.

Travel days

1. Day: Arrival - Constance

Individual arrival to the university city Constance. You have enough time to explore the city with its numerous sights worth seeing. You can either end the evening by dining in style in one of the many restaurants, or with a beer in one of the lively pubs.

2. Day: Constance - Stein am Rhein/Gailingen (approx. 29/39 km)

Travelling through picturesque fishing villages you will arrive in Ermatingen, where you can visit the Vinorama-Museum. The cycle path subsequently leads you to Stein am Rhein. Stroll through the alleys of the most well-preserved medieval town in Switzerland.

3. Day: Stein am Rhein/Gailingen - Radolfzell/Bodman-Ludwigshafen (approx. 24-49 km)

Today you travel to the Höri peninsula, which protrudes in the lower Lake. The Hermann-Hesse-House as well as the Höri-Museum are situated in the midst of the old village centre of Gaienhofen. From there, you continue on to Radolfzell and to Möggingen am Mindelsee with its romantically situated moated castle. You then cycle to Bodman, a charming health resort with a castle park, a sight worth seeing

4. Day: Radolfzell/Bodman-Ludwigshafen - Constance (approx. 29/44 km)

Travelling via Überlingen with the St. Nikolaus cathedral (a sight worth seeing) you cycle past the baroque monastery church Birnau and travel on the Prälatenweg to the Affenberg and to the former Cistercian monastery Salem with its famous cathedral. You can also follow the flat cycle path directly along the lake. Do not miss out on a visit to the pile-dwellings in Unteruhldingen (incl.). In Meersburg, you travel by ferry (on your own) to Constance.

5. Day: Constance - Departure

Individual departure from Constance.


The Lake Constance cycle path runs mainly on cycle paths or on quiet side-streets, which are mostly asphalted. The larger part of the route leads you in close proximity along the lake shore and is signed throughout.
