2. Day: Pisa - Lucca (approx. 30/45 km)

You begin your cycling tour travelling northwards and will soon reach the Serchio River, which accompanies you to Lucca. The most well-known landmark of the city is its well preserved city wall from the Renaissance, which surrounds the historic city centre with its cobbled stone alleys. Those who would like to cycle a longer tour, can travel the route to the largest lake in Tuscany, the Massaciuccoli See (+ 15 km) and then continue on to Lucca.

3. Day: Lucca - Montecatini Terme (approx. 45 km)

You first cycle further on the cycle path along the Serchio River. You travel on quiet country roads slightly uphill and downhill, between majestic villas, up into the tranquil mountain village of Collodi. The fabulous world of Pinocchio and the garden of the Villa Garzoni awaits you here. The medieval town of Pescia with its flower market is not too far away. At the end of the day, you will reach Montecatini Terme, one of the largest and most famous health resorts in Italy.

4. Day: Montecatini Terme - San Miniato (approx. 55 km)

You cycle southwards into the nature reserve Padule di Fucecchio (largest inland swamp area in Italy). A short ascent will bring you up into the wooded range of hills of the Cerbaie. The subsequent descent will bring you to the foot of the Montalbano, where Vinci, the birthplace of the famous artist Leonardo da Vinci, can be found. You pass vineyards and the Villa Medici von Cerreto Guidi and via the Arno River into the famous fortified city San Miniato. Numerous visitors are enchanted by the small city with its Tuscan flair. From the Friedrichsturm, which is the city’s landmark, one can enjoy an extraordinary view over San Miniato and its green surroundings.

5. Day: San Miniato - Pisa (approx. 55 km)

The hills around San Miniato offer a fabulous view. After a descent with a panoramic view, you travel in the direction of the Arno valley. A somewhat longer ascent brings you to Santa Maria a Monte and then down to Bientina, from where you will reach the castle of Vicopisano. At the foot of the Monte Pisano, you will encounter the Arno River once again, whose course will bring you back to Pisa.

6. Day: Pisa - departure
