Your starting point is Mainz, famous for its merry Carneval. The lively town on the junction of the rivers Rhine and Main has a lot to offer: Simply stroll around down town of visit cultural highlights like the Cathedral, the Church of St. Stephan with its famous Chagall windows or the Gutenberg Museum. You spend the night in Mainz.

You can choose between the quiet bike trail left of the Rhine through romantic fields and meadows or pass through lovely Eltville on the right side of the river. From here, a side trip takes you to the medieval Eberbach Convent, before you make your way to the famous wine town Rüdesheim. The “Drosselgasse” with its numerous wine bars is exemplary of the fun loving spirit of the region. You spend the night in Rüdesheim-Assmannshausen or in Bingen.

Today you start out on the Nahe Bike Trail. A highlight of the day is Bad Münster am Stein where the 1.200m long, 202m high rock wall of the Rotenfels rises above the valley. Through the Alsenz Valley and the hills of the Rheinhessische Schweiz Region you reach the lovely Nibelung town Alzey, where you spend the night.

You leave Alzey behind and make your way back to Mainz. Through dreamy villages, vineyards and fields you reach the Rhine Valley and return to your starting point. Enjoy the rest of the day in lively Mainz with a refreshment on the Rhine beach. Independent return journey.
