Beside the beautiful Danube

Brigach and Breg bring the Danube feed path this is the mnemonic of the origin of the Danube. The Danube Bike Trail between Passau and Vienna is Europe’s most popular and most travelled bike route. No other part of the Danube has so rich a variety of landscapes, cultural monuments and historical points of interest. Quiet valleys, fertile plains, steep vineyards, charming farms and grand convent buildings make for interesting wayside attractions. The Danube loop in Schlögen, Melk Abbey and the Wachau area are just a few of the highlights of this trip.

Through the lands of the old Danube monarchy

From the Krimml Water Falls to Passau, the Three River City

The well marked bike trail leads from Krimml to Passau and descends 760 m. The route follows the rivers Salzach and Inn and is mostly even, except for some few, short climbs.

Experience the deeply blue lakes, majestic mountains, the culture of Bavaria and the Salzburg region and of course the culinary specialties. Unfortunately you can’t bike from the Oktoberfest (festival in Munich) to the Salzburg Festival, as these events don’t take place at the same time.

Bike trails to wild horses and flamingos.

Explore the Münsterland, a true paradise for cyclists. Climbs are rare and bike trails mostly paved. The typical “Pättkes”, small forest trails, have a particular charm. You travel through colourful meadows, fields and pretty villages and pass numerous water forts, castles and mansions. The routes are very well marked and allow for occasional independent side trips.

The Pit Stop Tour is named for the numerous wayside restaurants and guesthouses that beckon with fresh, regional food and cosy accommodation. You travel through marsh country to Lake Dümmer, the second largest inland lake in Lower Saxony, and bike through extensive meadows, fields and orchards.
