This bike tour along the Mosel River is not only for wine lovers. The countryside around the Mosel is one of Europe’s most beautiful river valleys – you bike past several picturesque river loops, vineyards, romantic wine making towns, medieval castles and historical towns. The area has an especially mild climate is an important refuge for rare plants and animals like Apollo butterflies, wall lizards, the rock maple and the gagea bohemica. The inhabitants of the French-, German- and Luxemburg Mosel regions have been working together since early history to develop the river as an effective trade route and proved to the rest of the world that peaceful cooperation is possible internationally. This is still reflected in their openness and hospitality. Locked doors are very uncommon in Mosel Country. Many guest economies, mostly allow solid stone or truss and recreaction breaks are on offer to enjoy the regional culinary specialties and light wine with a lot of leisure.

From Marburg to Koblenz

The Lahn River follows a winding path through extensive valleys, narrows gorges in the Taunus and Westerwald Mountains and past romantic old villages in the fairy tale country that was home to the Brothers Grimm. The towns of the Lahn Valley are known for their truss architecture and narrow alleys with quirky restaurants and bars, as well as imposing castles that oftentimes sit majestically above the river.

The route on this tour follows the idyllic twin rivers Kocher and Jagst. See picturesque villages and historical towns in the midst of a charming landscape of meadows, fields and forests.

Neckar-Spring – Marbach 

The Neckar Bike Trail is one of the most varied and interesting bike trails. The “River of Poets” springs from damp and cool Schwenninger Moos and begins to make its way past the mighty mountains of the Swabian Alps and the Black Forest. Increasingly large loops, where castles often overlook the river, the Neckar continues to Nürtingen and the state capital of Stuttgart. Having passed the baroque town Ludwigsburg, the river follows a winding path through the vineyards of Württemberg. On your way to Heilbronn you pass lovely small cities like Besigheim, Laufen and the Schiller and wine making town of Marbach. Beyond Bad Wimpfen the Neckar Valley becomes narrower once again and makes its way through the wild Odenwald in impressive loops. You pass several well-known castles like Hornberg, Zwingenberg and Hirschhorn on the way to the famous university town of Heidelberg with its many sights.

From Würzburg to Rothenburg ob der Tauber

Starting in the baroque town of Würzburg you cycle through forest country to Tauberbischofsheim in the lovely Tauber Valley. You continue alongside the Tauber River and bike through pretty riverside meadows into the romantic world of medieval towns. You pass castles and old churches, many of which boast the artful carvings of Tilmann Riemenschneider, and finally arrive in Rothenburg ob der Tauber. Narrow alleys and quirky truss buildings make this charming town the final highlight of the trip.

North Frisia Roundtrip

North Frisia is one of Germany’s most beautiful regions. Experience the wide, extensive countryside, crisscrossed by many narrow canals and supported by dykes. Your journey takes you along the coast to islands and the Halligen. The Halligen are parts of land that rise only a few meters above sea level and are not protected by dykes. Regular flooding creates an unique natural habitat. A boat takes you through the Wadden Sea to the green island of Föhr, to Amrum with its long beaches and to Hallig Hooge. Take a deep breath of the healthy, iodine rich air and enjoy the natural beauty of the islands and coast.
